Six-party alliance demands Imran Khan's release before holding talks with government

A six-party alliance has stipulated that it will not engage in discussions with the government unless opposition leaders are granted an audience with incarcerated PTI leader Imran Khan. The coalition also called for the immediate release of Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, along with various legislators and workers, including three sisters of Khan.
During its first meeting since the federal government imposed emergency and Governor's Rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the opposition reviewed the current political landscape. Members of the alliance strongly denounced the federal intervention in the province as an attack on the people's mandate.
Peshawar High Court will be approached by the opposition to contest these constitutional measures. Negotiations reached a stalemate because both sides maintained uncompromising positions.
