National Book Foundation explores publishing Pakistani literature in Azerbaijan

The National Book Foundation (NBF) investigated ways to translate, publish, and market Pakistani literary works in Azerbaijan. Murad Ali Mohmand met with Professor Athar Mahmood to discuss these cultural exchange opportunities.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Qasim Mohiuddin, supported the meeting between the two parties. Professor Athar Mahmood, who has worked in the Azerbaijani academic sector for 12 years, offered to help translate specific NBF publications into the local language.
The discussion included plans to introduce NBF titles to the publishing market in Baku. Participants also considered translating the novel Wade Talsam, a work by an Azerbaijani literary figure, into Pakistani languages.
The NBF may publish Wade Talsam in the future and will seek the required permissions and publishing rights for selected titles.
