DRAP places eight health product categories under stricter regulatory oversight

The Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) issued a new notification bringing eight categories of health products under stricter regulatory oversight. This measure seeks to improve product quality and protect public health across the country.
Vitamins and dietary supplements are among the specific items now subject to these regulations. Medicated soaps, shampoos, and specialized infant milk also fall under the new oversight.
Manufacturers must now satisfy registration, approval, and quality-control requirements before they can market or produce these goods in Pakistan. The move aims to ensure products carrying medicinal or therapeutic claims meet prescribed quality standards.
