Punjab government alerts officials over COVID-19 and seasonal flu risks

The Punjab government issued an alert to all chief executive officers and medical superintendents across the province regarding COVID-19 and seasonal flu. Flu presents heightened danger for pregnant women and individuals managing chronic illnesses.
Health officials maintain that flu vaccination remains the most effective preventative action, particularly for the elderly and expectant mothers. Lahore hospitals are reportedly observing an increase in patients presenting with symptoms such as fever, persistent cough, body aches, breathing difficulties, and flu-like signs.
Health authorities noted that over 2,000 patients within a 24-hour period have not received independent verification, and they have not confirmed that all these cases relate to coronavirus.
