Cyber crime agency arrests two suspects for impersonating army and government officials

The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) apprehended two individuals in Karachi for allegedly posing as high-ranking Pakistan Army and government officers. Police conducted the operation in the Korangi Industrial Area to take the suspects into custody.
Authorities identified the detainees as Muzammil, son of Badruddin Qureshi, and Hamza, son of Muhammad Aslam. The men reportedly exploited the reputation of the Pakistan Army by falsely claiming they possessed significant influence within military and government departments.
By promising to facilitate official matters, including appointments and transfers, the suspects collected substantial amounts of money from victims. Officers registered a case against both men under FIR No. 114/2026.
Legal proceedings involve Section 109 of the Pakistan Penal Code alongside Sections 13, 14, and 16 of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) Amendment Act 2025.
