Naomi Kawase to head Doha Film Festival main competition jury

Naomi Kawase will lead the main competition jury for the Doha Film Festival, which takes place in the Qatari capital from 19 to 27 November. Kawase previously participated in the Qumra program in 2016 to mentor filmmakers who were just starting their careers.
The festival evolved from the existing Ajyal Film Festival held by the Doha Film Institute. Katara serves as a primary partner for the event.
Winners of the best narrative prize will receive $75,000, while the documentary award is valued at $50,000. Additional rewards include $45,000 for artistic achievement and $15,000 for a gender-neutral performance acting award.
