Federal government abolishes permanent posts vacant for a year or more

The Federal government decided to abolish permanent government posts that have remained vacant for a period of one year or longer. The Controller General of Accounts (CGA) confirmed that sixty percent of these vacant posts will face abolition.
However, the CGA noted that posts vacated through transfers, postings, or promotions will remain unaffected by this measure. Furthermore, the abolition of these posts means they will be removed from both initial and direct recruitment quotas.
Concerned accounts offices have received directives to prepare new vacancy rosters. Authorities also received instructions to process promotion cases according to the revised vacancy position.
