Federal government rejects Islamabad road closure reports; PTI shifts protest date

The Federal government rejected reports claiming that Islamabad roads were closed. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) postponed its planned long march from 27 September to 4 October.
The PTI's protest aims to secure the release of Imran Khan and restore constitutional supremacy. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting issued a fact-check statement regarding the road closures.
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting stated that all roads remain open, clarifying that any preventive judicial and security context relates to the State's duty to maintain public order. Furthermore, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting asserted that preventive security measures exist to safeguard public infrastructure and sensitive installations due to the instance party's past violent actions.
Aljazeera reported that between 1,500 and 2,000 shipping containers were seized to barricade Islamabad roads. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting also claimed that Aljazeera's reporting was misleading and negative.
