Apple implements new Mac controls for full disk access permissions

Apple will add new limits for "full disk access" on Mac devices, rolling out controls to ensure users grant this access with explicit action. Full disk access represents a permission on macOS that grants an application access to a user’s entire system.
This permission level can expose files, mail, messages, and browsing history without the user being aware. Andy Stone stated that access to Messages is entirely opt-in.
Furthermore, Stone noted that Muse requires enabling both Full Disk Access and the Messages connector to read Messages content. The functionality of backup applications largely relies on full disk access to operate.
