UK authority launches whistleblowing portal for entertainment industry workers

The Creative Industries Independent Standards Authority (CIISA) launched a whistleblowing portal for workers in the United Kingdom entertainment sector. This reporting service underwent a soft launch in June and has already received approximately 30 reports as of 1 October.
Parliament recognised CIISA as an official entity for whistleblowing, providing a formal framework for the new platform. Lisa Nandy stated, “There is absolutely no place for abuse, harassment or discrimination in the workplace, and it is crucial that people have a confidential place to report any concerns so that action can be taken.”
Workers submitting concerns may gain extra legal protections under UK law, potentially overriding previously signed non-disclosure agreements. The first stage of the service focuses on mapping sector-wide behaviours and practices instead of addressing individual cases directly.
