Farooq Naek resigns from Judicial Commission citing inability to perform duties

Farooq Naek resigned as a member of the Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP). In a letter, Naek stated, "I am unable to carry out my responsibilities as a member of the JCP".
Previously, Naek had represented the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) in the Commission. His appointment to the JCP originated from the Treasury Benches under Article 175A(2) of the Constitution.
The Senator has served as a representative from Sindh since 2003. Furthermore, Naek previously represented PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari before the Supreme Court in the presidential reference moved by President Asif Ali Zardari.
His political career included serving as the law minister following the 2008 general elections. In April 2012, Naek received reappointment after completing his three-year term as Senate chairman.
Records show that Naek dispatched a letter to Swiss Legal authorities in November 2012.
