PANAH holds youth session to promote healthy eating and food labelling

The Pakistan National Heart Association (PANAH) conducted a youth awareness session on 20 October at the Capital University of Science and Technology in Islamabad. University students attended the event to learn about promoting healthier dietary habits and engaging in advocacy to combat the rising prevalence of non-communicable diseases.
Participants received briefings on how front-of-pack warning labels provide accessible information regarding excessive critical nutrients in ultra-processed food products. The session specifically underscored the necessity of placing warning labels on ultra-processed items to inform consumers.
PANAH stated that combining informed dietary decisions with better awareness of food labelling can prevent disease and foster a healthier future for the country.
