UNODC asks Punjab Police to nominate officers for anti-trafficking training

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) requested that the Punjab Police nominate four officers for specialised training concerning human trafficking and migrant smuggling. This training programme is scheduled to take place in Lahore.
The programme intends to enhance frontline officers' capability to spot, stop, and react to crimes involving trafficking and migrant smuggling. A UNODC representative confirmed that the organisation assists law enforcement bodies in building capacity against these specific crimes.
Furthermore, UNODC has collaborated with Pakistani law enforcement agencies and government bodies to improve investigations and support coordination against transnational organised crime.
