Power Division concedes power price rise due to regional conflict
The Power Division conceded that the marginal power price increased because of a regional war. A public hearing convened the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) to discuss the matter.
Officials noted that the average power supply cost stands at Rs32 per unit. Industrial consumers received electricity at Rs22.98 per unit on 10 December last year.
Rehan Javed stated that the package rate remained frozen at Rs22.98. Conversely, Javed also stated that the average cost reached Rs34.26 per unit.
Furthermore, other consumers paid approximately Rs11.28 per unit. A team from the Power Division, led by Mehfooz Bhatti and Naveed Qaiser, warned regarding a legal examination of retrospective correction from 9 June.
