Iqbal urges Pakistan to build internationally recognized brands for growth

Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal addressed a national branding conference in Islamabad, asserting that Pakistan requires the development of internationally recognized Pakistani brands. He noted that Pakistan's exports have remained near $40 billion since 1990.
Iqbal stressed the necessity for the nation to shift focus from exporting low-value commodities toward differentiated products. The national branding strategy will concentrate on Culture, Exports, Governance, Diplomacy and Defence, Entertainment, Tourism and Sports.
The National Center for Brand Development (NCBD), which operates under the Ministry of Planning, will spearhead this initiative.
