Muhammad Aamir seeks court order to recover abducted Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister
Muhammad Aamir filed a constitutional petition in the Peshawar High Court on 13 October 2026 seeking the immediate recovery of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi. Aamir claims that armed and masked individuals abducted Afridi from the Chief Minister’s House in the presence of the Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Peshawar.
The petitioner asserts that this illegal detention violates fundamental human rights and the law, specifically citing Articles 4, 9, 10 and 14 of the Constitution. The court is asked to direct the CCPO Peshawar to provide full details regarding security arrangements and the specific incident.
Demands in the petition include an independent investigation into the abduction and the immediate preservation of CCTV footage and security records. Aamir requested that the court schedule an urgent hearing for the matter.
