England plays warm-up match in Perth before one-day international fixtures

England will contest a 50-over warm-up match against a Western Australia XI at the Waca in Perth on 7 November. This preparatory fixture takes place before the team contests its first one-day international at Perth's Optus Stadium.
Brendon McCullum hoped to arrange such fixtures to get players "up to speed" before next year's 50-over World Cup. The squad is scheduled to play three ODIs and five T20s in Australia between 13 November and 2 December.
Earlier this month, England will also participate in a 50-over tri-series in Pakistan against the hosts and Sri Lanka. During the third ODI against Sri Lanka, Joe Root was the sole player in England's eleven with more than 50 caps.
McCullum noted that England has a minimum of 20 official ODIs before next year's World Cup in southern Africa. Aside from Jos, Joe and Adil Rashid, McCullum observed that the side lacks considerable experience.
