Skydance launches voluntary buyout program as it mandates five-day in-office work

Skydance is offering a Voluntary Buyout (VBO) Program to eligible employees while enforcing a mandatory five-day weekly in-office policy. David Ellison and Ynon Kreiz issued a memo to staffers on 26 October to announce these changes.
The company will roll out the return-to-office requirement using a phased approach based on specific locations. Skydance executives claim the firm intends to reach more than $6 billion in annualized cost savings within three years.
A report issued by Los Angeles County in August suggested the merger might lead to the loss of approximately 4,500 film and TV jobs in the city over three years. The studio has not disclosed the specific scale of the job cuts it anticipates.
