World Bank to help Pakistan attract private investment into startups

The World Bank plans to assist Pakistan in drawing private investment into innovative businesses and startups. A proposed $50 million fund will be created to increase the availability of venture capital for high-growth companies.
The Pakistan Entrepreneurship and Private Investment Catalyst Project is scheduled for consideration by the World Bank’s Executive Board in early 2027. This project will support the government in establishing and providing capital for a Fund of Funds.
Professionally managed venture capital funds will receive investment from the Fund of Funds to provide early-stage and growth financing. The initiative covers a national scope without a specific geographic focus at the concept stage.
