Phillip Island to host final MotoGP race before moving to Adelaide

South Australia has secured the MotoGP race for a six-year period beginning in 2027, marking the end of Phillip Island as a host venue. The Phillip Island circuit has remained a staple on the racing calendar since 1997.
Marc Marquez, who has won four races at the track, currently sits two points behind Jorge Martin in the championship standings. Francesco Bagnaia finished in second place during the 2023 race at the venue after taking third in 2022.
Marco Bezzecchi trails Marquez by 44 points but maintains a 50-point lead over Ai Ogura. Martin expressed confidence that his team would provide the circuit with a proper send-off.
Raul Fernandez, who secured his first MotoGP victory at Phillip Island, admitted he will cry a little bit during the final event. Injuries forced both Marquez and Martin to miss the 2025 Australian race.
