Rana Sanaullah asserts government cannot accept demands by holding state hostage

Rana Sanaullah spoke at a press conference in Islamabad on Wednesday, asserting that the government cannot be pressured into accepting demands by holding the state hostage. He further stated that the government would not permit talks with the opposition to function as a “tool” for political demands, adding that negotiations could not be used to strong-arm the government.
Regarding the political climate, Sanaullah recalled PTI’s past protests in Islamabad and noted that the party has been “successful” in obstructing peace. The PML-N leader also remarked that politics has devolved into a culture of “below the belt” jabs at each other and a “culture of intolerance.”
Concerning the situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sanaullah mentioned that the martyrs included children, civilians, and soldiers from KP, and that the attitude of the KP government was “unacceptable.” Despite the political tensions, Sanaullah confirmed that “Doors for talks are open.”
