Sony's Crunchyroll launches Storyworks division focusing on anime adaptations

Sony's anime service Crunchyroll launched a new division named Crunchyroll Storyworks. This new Storyworks division will concentrate on anime and live-action adaptations developed through collaboration with Japan’s creative ecosystem.
The division plans to adapt worldwide narratives into anime formats, while also transforming Japanese anime into live-action pieces. Crunchyroll Storyworks intends to work closely with Japanese creators to maintain and prioritise the original creative vision.
Operating within Crunchyroll’s content group, the division will expand the stream of high-quality, greenlight-ready projects for HAYATE, Crunchyroll’s joint venture with Aniplex. Iokibe, the head of Crunchyroll Storyworks, will report directly to Asa Suehira, Crunchyroll’s chief content officer.
