Apple partners with LG for smart home devices featuring Matter and Thread support

Apple is collaborating with LG to create a new collection of smart home devices. This new range of gadgets will incorporate LG branding across the products.
The forthcoming smart home gear will include items such as a video doorbell, an indoor camera, and a thermostat. Furthermore, the lineup will feature an outdoor security camera, a floodlight camera, and a deadbolt lock.
Several of these devices are set to support the smart home protocols Thread and Matter. The door lock component, specifically, will incorporate an ultra-wideband feature.
Apple is also developing a smart home hub that will feature Siri AI capabilities. This central hub is anticipated to possess a six-inch display.
The smart home hub is scheduled to launch on 13 October 2026. Apple is expected to reveal the smart home hub later this month.
