Author tests $14 kitchen frother during Oakland heat wave

A $14 Zulay Kitchen frother reached consistency in 30 seconds to one minute when powered by fresh batteries. The author used the device for approximately two weeks while temperatures in Oakland reached 90 degrees during a March heat wave.
Mixing tasks for the frother included beating eggs, blending creatine or protein powder, and preparing hot chocolate. Concentrated cold brew served as the primary base for drinks during the hot weather.
Guidance for the testing process came from America’s Test Kitchen. The author also explored the Einspänner, an espresso drink named after a one-horse carriage, which originally featured whipped cream and hot espresso in Vienna.
Travel records from the author include a February visit to Koreatown in Los Angeles, a stop at a coffee shop called Stagger, and a return to Oakland.
