WaterAid Pakistan holds hand hygiene session for healthcare workers in Islamabad

WaterAid Pakistan organised an interactive awareness session in Islamabad to observe Global Handwashing Day 2026. The organisation partnered with the Health Services Academy (HSA) to host the event for students and healthcare professionals.
Prof. Dr. Shahzad Ali Khan attended the gathering to stress that healthcare workers must maintain strict hand hygiene to ensure safer medical practices and prevent infections. Mian Muhammad Junaid spoke at the session about protecting public health by washing hands during critical moments to stop the transmission of diseases.
Participants engaged in a poster competition, interactive discussions, and a practical demonstration of proper handwashing techniques. WaterAid Pakistan intends to inspire medical staff to become 'Handwashing Heroes' as part of its ongoing hygiene advocacy.
