Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Governor orders emergency measures as dengue cases surge

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi chaired a high-level meeting to review the province's dengue situation. Lieutenant General (retired) Nigar Johar, the Advisor for Health, attended the session.
Authorities confirmed 3,771 dengue cases across the province, resulting in two deaths. District Kohat accounts for 2,319 of those confirmed infections.
Climate change, unplanned urban growth, poor sanitation, and electricity load-shedding are facilitating the spread of the disease. Isolation wards with a total capacity of 1,666 beds have been established across the province.
Governor Faisal Karim Kundi directed the Kohat district administration to take effective measures on an emergency basis. The Governor instructed immediate and effective steps be taken in other affected districts.
Resources for district administrations are to be provided on a priority basis.
