Khawaja Asif questions commitment of bureaucrats planning to settle abroad

Khawaja Asif questioned the commitment of senior bureaucrats to Pakistan, alleging that many government officers planned to settle overseas while still serving the country. The minister stated that many officials had established permanent homes in the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, and various European nations over recent years.
Portugal has emerged as a specific destination for this bureaucratic exodus, according to Asif. Some officers reportedly prepared for their relocation under a deliberate plan while employed by the Government of Pakistan.
Asif raised these concerns on social media a few months ago, asking, "Does it rise above all doubt and suspicion, or are they merely in transit?" An individual who facilitated permanent residency arrangements allegedly fled after collecting substantial sums of money from several influential bureaucrats.
The allegations have not been independently verified.
