China State Construction Engineering Corporation to rehabilitate Sindh National Highway N-5

China State Construction Engineering Corporation Ltd. has been selected to rehabilitate sections of the National Highway N-5 in Sindh. A 100 million USD Chinese grant provides the funding for this infrastructure initiative.
The National Highway Authority (NHA) is responsible for implementing the project under the Ministry of Communications. On 27 February, the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) approved the contract, which is now drafted for signing.
Work on the highway is intended to enhance driving conditions and road safety for commuters. Officials expect the rehabilitation to decrease transportation delays and reduce vehicle operating costs.
Improving logistics efficiency through this project will also strengthen domestic supply chains.
