Talal Chaudhry says provincial government failed to cooperate on national anti-terrorism policy

Talal Chaudhry told reporters outside Parliament House on 13 October that the provincial government did not provide necessary cooperation to the Centre regarding a unified policy against terrorism. The federal government's main goal remains protecting public lives and ensuring stability by eliminating terrorism.
Chaudhry noted that terrorism acts as a national issue that obstructs the country's overall development and business activities. To find a solution in the larger national interest, the federal government examined every possible option with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led provincial administration.
During these negotiations, the Centre accommodated political demands and offered support to the provincial leadership. Coordinated efforts and a shared commitment from all stakeholders are required to support security forces in tackling terrorism.
The initiative sought to restore peace and stability rather than pursue specific political objectives. Residents in the province expressed satisfaction after a constitutional measure was taken to address the situation.
