North Korea warns South Korea of horrible situation following land mine blast

North Korea warned South Korea of the "most horrible and distressing situation" following a land mine explosion in the Demilitarised Zone on 21 September. Three South Korean soldiers were injured in the blast, with two of them suffering serious wounds.
Seoul accused Pyongyang of intentionally placing the mines in the area. Pyongyang rejected these allegations as "blame-shifting" and claimed the South was trying to damage its international reputation.
Kim Yo Jong announced that Korea would increase its alert status across the entire southern border. The North Korean official stated that anti-South Korean loudspeakers would be ready for deployment along the border within days.
New countermeasures were also announced along the heavily militarised border.
